Ashley & Kevin’s Ivy Ridge Barn Wedding
It was 1:30 pm on a beautiful sunny day - August 8th, 2020 - when I arrived at Ashley and Kevin’s home in Barrie, Ontario to begin capturing their wedding day. I picked up Ashley’s gift for her groom and drove around the corner to the Four Points by Sheraton Barrie to start with the boys’ getting ready photos! I was very impressed that the men were all set to go. Kevin opened his gift, and then his best man and groomsmen helped him with his jacket, boutonnière, and tie.
After 45 minutes with the groom and his men, I headed back over to the house where the bride and her girls were getting ready!
I started with some wedding day details, as I usually do, photographing the wedding rings and the bride’s gorgeous bouquet from Art in Bloem - a florist serving Barrie, Muskoka, Collingwood and Blue Mountain.
Next, we took some photos of the bride and her bridesmaids in their adorable matching pyjamas!
Finally, it was time for one of my favourite parts of the day: the bride getting into her wedding dress.
Once the bride was all set in her beautiful Wtoo Watters dress (purchased from Ceremony Bridal Studio in Barrie), she did a first look with her bridesmaids, her dog of honour, Jersey, and her father and step-father.
At 3:45 pm, I left for my first wedding at the amazing rustic barn wedding venue: Ivy Ridge. Ashley and Kevin’s wedding ceremony began at 4:30 pm.
Immediately following their moving ceremony, we walked around the beautiful property at Ivy Ridge getting family, wedding party, and couple photos.
At 6:30 pm, it was time for the beautiful barn reception! I explored the venue, capturing some detail shots along the way.
The bride and groom entered the barn, starting the evening with their first dance to the song Can’t Help Falling in Love by Haley Reinhart.
After a few speeches from the bride and groom’s friends and family, we went outside for a few more photos before the sun set.
Before it was time for me to head out, the bride and groom shared dances with some of their parents.
At 9:30 pm, my time with Ashley and Kevin came to an end.
