Josie & Mark's Winona Vine Estates Wedding

Stoney Creek Wedding Photographer

Josie first reached out to me back in October 2018 (how has it already been TWO years?!). We bonded immediately over dogs and Netflix. The only downside was that I had to wait a whole year to capture their wedding day! But sure enough, October 26, 2019 finally arrived.

At 10:30 am, it was time for some getting-ready photos with the bride and her bridesmaids. Josie’s gorgeous dress from Heirlooms Bridal caught the light perfectly!

Their whole wedding had the most unique comic book theme, including the invitations, bouquets, centrepieces, and a little surprise at the reception…

1:00 pm came, and it was ceremony time at the beautiful St Francis Xavier Parish in Stoney Creek, ON.

After the ceremony, we headed to Puddicombe Farms for some formal photos of the bride and groom with their bridal party.

They just couldn’t resist the opportunity to slide down the giant shark’s mouth before heading to the reception!

We got to Winona Vine Estates just before 5:00 pm, with lots of time for me to capture the amazing décor in the reception hall.

After hosting their receiving line, the bride and groom entered their reception – around 6:00 pm – in true comic book fashion and went straight into their first dance as husband and wife to the song Iris by Goo Goo Dolls.

Dinner was complemented by some moving speeches, as well as the father-daughter and mother-son dances.

Around 9:00 pm, the party was revving up. Spiderman made a special appearance, and the groom and his groomsmen revealed their on-theme undershirts!

Just before it was time for me to head out, I realized it was RAINING! Rain on a wedding night is a photographer’s dream! I grabbed an umbrella from my trunk, and snuck the bride and groom outside for a couple of nighttime off-camera flash shots.

I want to say thank you so much to Josie and Mark not only for choosing me to be by their sides on their big day, but for being so much fun and so vulnerable in front of my lens. You will forever have a special place in my heart! And a big shout out to my fellow vendors for the day:
